What you will need to bring to training
At Dogtivities, we use treats and toys as motivation to reward your dog. Bring plenty of small sized treats. Soft food is preferred. Although dogs love rich flavoured and fragrant liver pieces, we do not want any treats to get caught while your dog is training. If your dog loves a ball or tug, please bring this along.
We will assist you to train your dog on the collar or harness that you usually use. We do not require you to purchase special equipment to attend our training. If we believe that you may benefit by using other equipment, we will discuss this with you and help you try new options so that you and your dog have a good experience. However, puppies must not be trained on a slip chain for safety reasons.
We do ask that you bring a safe and standard length lead. I am not a fan of chain leads as I do not want handlers to get hurt if a dog does lunge. If you bring a chain lead, we will offer you an alternative to borrow during class for your safety.
Aggressive dogs
If you are experiencing challenging or aggressive behaviours, contact me for an assessment. Individual training can be arranged to progress an intervention, tailored to your dog’s needs in a controlled environment.
Board and Training
Please call to discuss boarding and training options to arrange a package to meet your needs.
